Dr. John Gargus has been practicing radiation oncology for over 25 years, many of which have been with RCOG in their Gwinnett County Radiation Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. While he performs general radiation oncology, Dr. Gargus has a special interest in the treatment of breast cancer.

Dr. Gargus attended the Medical College of Virginia (MCV), receiving his medical degree in 1978. After completing his residency in therapeutic radiology at MCV, he moved to Lynchburg, where he worked in private practice for 8 years. He later moved to Atlanta and points out that the city’s “excellent medical community makes it much easier to practice medicine.”

Dr. Gargus is originally from Northern Virginia. He enjoys scuba diving when he gets the chance, and also loves astronomy and following the local sports teams in Atlanta.
