Born in Israel, Dr Sahar Rosenbaum grew up in South Africa and came to the United States to run a mental health clinic in Philadelphia, where she attended medical school. She graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania and completed her Radiation Oncology residency at Cooper Hospital. She was assistant Professor at Hanhemann Medical College and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Where she taught Oncology to Medical Students.
In addition to her medical degrees, Dr. Rosenbaum has a degree in Speech Pathology/Audiology and a Masters degree in Psychology. Being a mother of three, Dr. Rosenbaum attended medical school later in life.
She chose radiation oncology because she loved physics and thought her experience in psychology would be helpful to cancer patients.
Dr. Rosenbaum has been with RCOG for eight years. She originally practiced at Northside Hospital where she was Chairman of NHS Radiation Oncology and NHS cancer program, and she has recently moved to RCOG’s Snellville center because she wanted a smaller, more intimate work environment that enabled her to provide programs that enhanced quality of life both during and after treatment.
Outside of the center, she is an artist whose work in fiber and glass is in a couple of galleries in Atlanta. Her knitting patterns have also been published. She spends her pastime growing orchids in her greenhouse, and quilting. “It is a good stress reliever” she says.
